Re: OpenVMS Licensing on VAX emulators

I think there are a number of aspects regarding this issue:

1. Licensing, i.e. the simple right to run and use the software on a
platform other than the original.

2. Honouring any software service contracts on that platform, for
OpenVMS and layered software from HP. Answering questions, fixing bugs etc.

3. Honouring any software service contracts from third parties, e.g.
Oracle or any of the applications originally designed for VAX VMS.

Of course 2 and 3 only apply to commercial usage. For hobbyist and
educational purposes only 1 applies IMO.
