HELP here says that A = active

o A - Active route (created manually or associated with an
           interface)

o D - Dynamic route (created by ROUTED or GATED routing daemon)

Looking at the output of TCPIP SHOW ROUTE here..

D would by Dynamic -- created when I attempt to access that address
either via a telnet or from a web browser or whatever.

A could be either Active or Automatic -- Automatic because it appears
next to addresses that relate to the defined interfaces, or Active
because those particular items happen to be active. Or, automatic
when applied to networks and active when applied to hosts?

Dave.
