Some of the larger color multifunction units have separate print heads. They
are ostensibly designed for use on networks for small workgroups, so having
separate print heads with longer replacement intervals makes sense.

That said, the quality of HP's printer drivers in the Windows environment
leaves a lot to be desired - conflicts if you have certain b&w lasers and
color printers installed on the same machine, network functionality that is
flaky, network discovery issues, etc..... They are better than they once
were but there's still room for LOTS of improvement - even for some of the
newest printers.
