Sounds like to much work for me !

I would shut down the system the replace one of the old drives then

b -fl 0,1
set startup_p1 "min"
cont

after the system comes up

backup/image/ignore=inter olddisk newdisk

shutdown the system replace the other old drive

b -fl 0,1 newdisk
set startup_p1 ""
cont

after the system boots login and then mount a second member to the
shadowset
