By default, there are two levels of screen saver. First is when the screen
goes blank but hitting the keyboard/wiggling the mouse just puts you back
where you were. The second level is when the automatic screen lock kicks
in, you have to enter your password to resume.
The response to an email or something must _not_ undo any screen lock.
(aside: I noticed on 8.2 a delay of about 2 seconds between wiggling
the mouse and when the screen appears, that wasn't there on 7.3-2. This
is on older hardware however (TGA video card).
