I think it was supposed to be a joke. You know, Windows, crash, BSOD,
data loss. Too subtle, I guess,

And you don't think they already do that? In most metro areas
the streets are riddled with cameras and microphones. Just
about everyone today carries a cell phone that is constantly
transmitting your location. All the new motor vehicles seem
to have GPS and OnStar. This has become a wonderful place for
the truly paranoid to live. But then I guess it takes their
minds of their hypochondria,
