Great stuff ! Do I get a % of total VMS profits because of this ? :-)
:-) :-) :-) :-) :-)
I was thinking about it. What are the different ways to send the request
to backup ? (Consider the case where there might be multiple instances
of Backup running on different nodes in a cluster).
Could one specify /CLASS= and decide between any operator classes in the
backup command, and then that job would only respond to REQUEST/TO=class
that was specified ? If multiple jobs had the same class I guess all
would respond.
Also, when a request is issued, backup should not only send the response
back to the OPCOM but also to its own sys$output. This way, the logfile
would have a record of that output. (consider for instance a case when
you need to send the logfile for analysis of a problem, that output
would show the various "CTRL-T" that were requested during the job and
record the bheaviour/progress during the job. (especially now that you
will be outputting the throughput, having different CTRL-T outputs
showing a problem with throughput would help debug/analyse performance)
.
