It's definitely not a license problem: VMS always boots but you won't be
able to use any other way to get in other than thru the console port. A
double exception IMHO is either caused by an unsupported SCSI controller or
(on white box Alpha's) the NVRAM lost the magic incantations. On a 4100 the
latter is unlikely so it's got to be the SCSI controller. Does the 4100 boot
from a 50 pin SCSI-2 disk on the on-board controller?
