I think this is the first time I hear of a commitment for that IA64 thing beyond 2007.
But that is a 10 billion going to the marketing alliance, not to the development of the chip. My guess is that the contract is full of easy exits.
Note that not too long before Compaq murdered Alpha, it also helped create Alpha Processor Inc.
Ok, forget c.o.v. Read what some other people have to say about the itanic. Not one favorable comment. Only 4 unfavorable that I saw, so maybe there are 4 itanic haters outside c.o.v. Figure the odds.
