Is this a shop environment or just an experimental toy in the basement.
This type of hook-up does not exist in the RS232 spec at all and violating
RS232 puts all connected systems at risk of having a hardware failure at the
wrong time or of crashing just when they are needed.
If this were my business, I'd have your resignation.
