Well, The Inquirer is hardly an "unbiased" news source here, BUT I
personally trust it way beyond what is ever said in a press release or
even an internal tech meeting.

That said, this is not the first time in the industry (for Intel it is
at least the fourth) that they swore up and down that a particular
chip/architecture was going to be the future of all computing, all
sorts of business partners "realigned" themselves around it, and then
if slipped, it faltered, and EVENTUALLY corporate reasoning came around
and figured out it was all a crock of shit to begin with. What I'm
surprised at is how few heads have rolled.
