Auto Negotiate with Gigabit?

In the past I have experienced problems with auto-negotiate and 100 Mb ethernet
adapters - which setting setting both the adapter and the network port to
forced 100 Full Duplex resolved any issues.

Though I have not (seemingly) experienced any of the same issues with Gigabit
ethernet as I have with 100 Mb - has anyone else expereinced problems with
auto-negotiate and Gigabit ethernet adapters?
