While checking memory on one node it was noted that Virtual I/O
Cache "Free" was = 0. It was also discovered that the system
parameter VCC_FLAGS is set to "1", which is the VAX default, rather
than to "2" which is the alpha default.
Q1. Is Virtual I/O Cache, Free = 0, a potential issue???
Q2. Is having VCC_FLAGS set to 1 on an Alpha system OK??
Q2b. would I be better off with it set to 2, what are the
respective benefits.??
Thanks

XFC is generally much more effective at caching I/Os, and will cache a broader range of them. Certainly, the efforts at HP are going to XFC.
Set VCC_flag = 2 and you're ready to go.
Make sure you stay current with the latest XFC ecos.
Your mileage probably won't vary here.
