Sounds like there's a bug somewhere, and I'm not sure I'd want to have a POP3 tool deleting files from underneath MAIL. (I'd be as interested in why there's an error like this lurking, and what software here is at fault.)
The code necessary to verify the component MAIL files is available on the Freeware. It's known as VFYMAIL, IIRC.
I understand that the layout is subject to change, but why couldn't the definition
be included in starlet. Just curious.
