Check to see if there is a security tool on the Microsoft Windows system, if you were using a browser on the Windows system to look at the code. I had a Windows client inserting Javascript into the HTML in-line, and it was driving me nuts until I sorted it out. (I mentioned this earlier, but -- because it was so unexpected, and so memorable -- I'll repeat it. symerror, symwinopen, IIRC. This was arriving in the head block, thanks to some Symantec Norton tools that were installed.)
