FTP strangeness

Hi All
Problem using SmartFTP uploading directories to to my server, Compaq TCP/IP
Services for OpenVMS Alpha Version V5.1 on a AlphaServer DS10L 466 MHz
running OpenVMS V7.2-2. When I try to upload a directory with files and
sub-directories from Windows to the server, the initial directory is created
but no sub-directories or files are transferred.
Log extract....
[23:41:48] LIST
[23:41:48] 150 Opening data connection for
HT_ROOT:[000000.FOURPROVINCES]*.*;* (192.168.100.14,4241)
[23:41:48] 550 file not found
SmartFTP support say that the valid reply codes for a LIST command are:
LIST
125, 150
226, 250
425, 426, 451
450
500, 501, 502, 421, 530
Reference: http://www.faqs.org/rfcs/rfc959.html We decided not to implement
a hard-coded work around as the FTP server is clearly not RFC 959 compliant.
So, are the TCP/IP services *really* not RFC 959 compliant? Why does it
return 550 and can I change this somehow?
Or, is there a nice, *free*, graphical windows-based client I can use? If
it ran on XPx64 that would be nice too!!
TIA
.
