How come stopping the DECW$MWM and/or DECW$SERVER didn't reset this and
it required a reboot ?
Looks like it's all managed in the device driver code. I wouldn't think
that restarting either of these would clear out those settings.
Is this hardware specific ? At what level is this handled ? Would this
work on all VMS platforms ?
AFAIK it should work on all platforms, the source listings seem to
indicate that.
