Perhaps you would like to call up the Vista folks and let them know how
delusional they are.

I never said they were delusional. I said Bob was delusional.

And, if they have been using "OpenVMS for over 18 years" and been totally
satisfied with it why then did they even bother with a Windows version?

Real time has many definitions. If you'll look at an earlier post in this
thread you'll note that there may be "real time controllers" in the picture.
You can run your OS/9 there.

I'm not going to argue with success. You, on the other hand, have invented an
argument with the Vista people out of the clear blue sky.

No I didn't. Bob brought up that VMS was the only answer to the problem
of Windows viruses. I merely pointed out that for real-time applications
there are other alternatives. Bob is always pointing out the difference
between the nu,mber of CERT Vulnerabilities in Windows and VMS. I was
merely pointing out that there are other alternatives that perform better
even in that limited (and really valueless) criteria.

You want to drive
Bob out of existence by demolishing his arguments, but sometimes he quotes
someone who knows something.

Bob is so out of touch with reality as far as the IT industry is concerned
it is utterly amazing that he has a job at all. He usually quotes things
out of context and often gets the meaning behind them totally reversed.

[Hmm. Los Alamos, New Mexico. Can't imagine who they might have in their
customer base.]

Being located in Los Alamos does not mean they have anything to do with
the labs (although they might and probably do). I'll bet there are lots
of people who live in Los Alamos and work at the local Wal-Mart.
