Guys, just read the report at http://www.ipcc.ch. It is the working group II report for April 2007.

2500 scientists worked on this. all government representatives (including USA) signed the report. And consider that even in its watered down form (so the USA would sign it), it outlines very serious consequences and costs to industry and humanity of nothing is done.

I just saw a report about this on the BBC. The IPCC was really ticked off because ambassadors from Saudi Arabia and China demanded that certain phrases in the summary document be watered down. Since the IPCC is an extension of the UN, they complied.
