may update the product database as well

Don't think so (as for me it seems not neccessary) - but I may be wrong.

But PRODUCT DELETE RECOVERY_DATA deletes the oldest tree first thus leaving
some valid recovery points if interrupted, while deleting PCSI$UNDO_001 tree
renders all the recovery data corrupt/worthless (until someone renames the
still intact/complete PCSI$UNDO_xxx directory files back to ascending order)
