Consider the case where you have some SAN that supports VMS, Unix, *EVIL
WINDOWS* , OS-X and Linux.
You must dig into the SAN configutation to ensure that Windows doesn't
see the VMS disk and that it cannot possibly ever even think about
writing its "signature" on your VMS drives.
Does that infer that there's a Non-Evil Windows??? :o)
Selective presentation keeps different boxes from seeing each others'
disks. Different zones keeps the Windows boxes from seeing the VMS
disks and vice versa. It's important to remember too that not all
storage arrays are equal in the HP range. The MSA1000 and MSA1500
didn't support VMS and anything on the same storage array. MSA2000s
are not supported on VMS *yet*.
EVAs can do VMS and Windows on the same storage array, though you have
to split up what can see which.
