Instead of TYPE ASCII or TYPE BINARY, you use TYPE LIQUID , it should
work without problems, but you might lose some attributes such as
"fizzyness" (just as binary transfers may lose some VMS file attributes)

You can then SET BEER/ATTR=(type=fizzy,bubble=Co2,density=34) to restore
the attributes. (For guiness, the bubble may require a list type
argument since as I recall, it is a mixture of gases).
