Is your system configured for DHCP by any chance?
Nop, fixed at 192.168.1.10.
All network trafic runs OK of I just lookup the IP for
a particular host using my PC (on the same office network)
and use that IP instead of the host name (since host lookup
currently doesn't work) when (e.g.) FTP'ing something to the
VMS box.
All traffic in to the VMS box also works OK (besides om SMTP,
since the host lookup doesn't work). The telnet, SSH, HTTP
ports are forwarded to the VMS box in the ADSL router just as
usual.
192.168.1.1 is such a popular IP address for home routers that I'm
thinking you're getting one domain name via DHCP, and a different name
is being configured manually through the OpenVMS name server.
I would check the configuration on the DNS server/router (at
192.168.1.1) to verify it is configured with the correct domain name.
It should also be an Internet domain (like ossby.com) and not a
Windows domain.
I do not think the router has any "domain" configured at all.
I also have a xxxxxx.dyndns.org host registred that "points" to my
ADSL router, but that should not be visible when doing
the base config on the VMS box on the "inside", right ?
And I do not think that the dyndns host-name is known to my ADSL
router at all, it's just a way for others to reach my router.
