One of my alpahs (DS10L) now has 2 ethernet cables to the switch. TheProbably not! The experiment, however, might prove interesting.
other alpha still has just one. If the second alpha has 2 ethernets,
does this mean that SCS traffic could flow at 200mbps between those 2
nodes ?
Years ago, I did something like this. I had a pair of 4100s connected back to back with a crossover cable. A second Ethernet interface on each machine was connected to the switch. ISTR that there was a way to dedicate the interface to SCS traffic. I no longer recall the details. This would have been VMS V7.1 or, perhaps V7.2.
.
Am currently doing a backup from one to the other. It appears that both
ethernets are being used o the first alpha (based on swith statistics).
What management commands exist to manage SCS traffic over 2 ethernets ?
Is there a way to give one ethernet higher priority ? Or is it all
automatically balanced ?
Also, what commands exist to monitor SCS traffic over each eithernet port ?
MON SCS gives destination traffic.
and SHOW CLU/CONT seems to only know of PEA0 in terms of circuits. what
field shoudl I add to get a list of ethernet devices being used for SCS ?
