The light on the DVD Rom flashes and if the VMS DVD is not in the
drive I do not EltCheckDevice : error reading catalog Device Error.
Starting to indicate my DVD Rom is dead.
Should I see other devices in the device mapping table?

Dug,
What does it show if you type the Shell> map command?

This is an rx2620 system with:-
System Firmware: 3.10 [4445]
BMC Version: 3.47
No MP
2 x 1.6 GHz Active CPU's
1 x DVD drive
3 x 73GB SCSI disks
I'm connected to the system on the "CONSOLE SERIAL A" connector
(nothing special).
The system is headless (no display). I can see fs0 thru fs3 (file
system 0 thru file system 3)
which are not shown on your system.
The system is running OpenVMS V8.3-1H1 and all the disks are
formatted, and I must say that this is a seriously fast system for
such a small box.
If you can get your system going you won't be disappointed.
I'm not sure there is anything else I can do to help?
