The almighty MicroVAX II also consumes more power than a laptop. :=)

People wanting these probably have several computers running, so the
additional power is not that much---especially if the computers are
always on, and the monitors switched on only when needed.

While there are LCD monitors for ALPHA, I don't know if there are any
which will work with VAX.
