I believe that was the Swedish pirate party.

Has anyone heard their excuses in the trial? They claim innocence
because no pirated works were on their servers. That's like me setting
up a web site for connecting hit-men with people who will pay them to
kill someone and then claiming I am innocent because I personally didn't
kill anyone.

Oh come on,
your kill & rape examples really are quite a bit of a stretch.
These crimes really hurt people (for life).

So does piracy. Or are you saying that if I take your wallet you
suffer no damage?

Pirating music mainly (only) hurts profits and boni
of a cynical music industry.

It takes the fruits of someone elses labor. If you want free music
create it yourself. After all, the pirates seem to think it is pretty
trivial and therefore not worth what the owners of the IP charge for
it. Kind of like software.

Show me musicians who starve because of piracy.

One doesn't need to starve to have been cheated of their rightful
property.

And zapping through Viva, MTV and those brain-dead casting shows
I can well understand that people are not inclined to pay
for that crap.

No one makes you pay for it. If it is not worth the charge, then why
do you want it in the first place? If it is worth the price, pay it, if
it isn't then don't clail you have a right to it anyway. I want a
Porsche 911. But I don't think it is worth $60K. Does that make it
OK for mew to steal it?
