There
is no EXECUTE bit. Not on the Alpha either. Only on ia64 is there such a
concept.
I don't remember the details but Tru64 Alpha has something to prevent you
from executing on the stack. I seem to remember having to call some
mprotect() service in order to execute the Bound Procedure Values defined in
the Tru64 Calling Standard. I wonder how that is implemented?
