I now have my BA356s talking to the HSZ50 cleanly, but I still have some
questions.
The BA356 16 bit interface has two yellow LEDs by the SCSI connector.
According to the manual, these indicate a fan failure. When a fan
fails, the corresponding LED is supposed to light up, the other fan is
forced to high speed, and Shelf_OK signals the problem at the power
supply OK light and at the cable if so jumpered.
Does this actually happen?
If I remove a fan, I do not get any indication of a fault. (I would
think that the complete loss of a fan is a failure, but...) In
particular, the Shelf_OK signal does not indicate the loss of the fan.
What am I missing?
Thanx!
