    I don't remember when the TDMS port for Alpha came in, but I'm kinda
    frustrated as an EDU/CSLG user. The VAX version of TDMS was on the CSLG;
    the Alpha version isn't, and it's not cheap. We already paid for the PRAXA
    TDMS emulator when we moved to Alpha in 1995 (and paid several thousand
    dollars more in getting PRAXA to fix access violations in the code), and
    that emulator doesn't include a forms editor. We currently maintain a
    VAX 4000/90 for the exclusive purpose of running the TDMS forms editor for
    the several times a year we need to change forms for existing applications.
    I'd like to have TDMS for Alpha in the CSLG so I can ditch that remaining
    VAX, save maintenance costs and desk space, and reduce my headaches in
    general. Instead, if we don't manage to rewrite all our TDMS applications
    into web-based ones, I'll likely someday have to go to Charon-VAX or SIMH
    or something.

    [I'm venting my personal frustration here; I can't make any realistic
    business case for HP to put this software in the CSLG so I can have it
    without giving them any more money.]
