DEC AlphaServer 1000A startup problems

    I got an Alphaserver 1000A 4/200 (32MB RAM). Sadly, this machine has a
    problem: after pressing the power button the system switches on and after
    2sec it switches off again. Any ideas why it does this? I noticed that one
    of the two fans (the one that cools the expansion cards) is missing. Can
    this be the reason? The manual says that if there is a problem with the fans
    the system switches off after ~10s, but mine does that after only 2secs. Any
    ideas?
