  Multia was less a workstation and more a dedicated Microsoft Windows
  NT-based client; an early attempt at a thin client, for lack of a
  better reference.

  Specific versions of OpenVMS Alpha can be coaxed into (unsupported)
  operations on the Alpha Multia variant, and a free hobbyist license
  is available -- see the OpenVMS Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ) for
  further information and pointers and media and licensing details.

  There is also an educational licensing program available for OpenVMS
  use at schools, and potentially other programs of interest to schools.
  (Again, please see the the OpenVMS FAQ for pointers.)

  OpenVMS does not officially nor formally support the Multia now or
  in the past, and I expect it is unlikely that there will be new(er)
  OpenVMS releases provided nor formal support added for the box.

  OpenVMS has two releases (V8.0 and V8.1) ported to HP Integrity (Intel
  Itanium), meaning you have older Alpha systems, various VAX systems,
  and potentially new or used Itanium boxes that you might be able to
  find (and afford) and use for OpenVMS for your educational interests.
