    The 4kx18 Ampex module I have from a PDP-15 (dead before removal)is
tagged w/ an AMPEX Assy. No. 3255811-01E Ser. No. FA-198 on one side
("Side 1, on the board, the flop side says, on the board (that is in
    wave-flow covered solder Y Diode Matrix G614A)

I believe these mods were also used in the cab-and-a-halfx6' 256KWx 36
bits (or 1 Mbyte and a few KA/I-10 cabinet - a major improvement over
the previous DEC KA-10 16-KWord cabs.

Not only are they amber, but they were the only TRANSLUCENT flavor -
the rest were opaque. Lets drink one to DEC design shop.
