Hello,

The Toshiba XM-6302B PCXRN-AR.A02 CD-ROM drive in my Compaq Professional
Workstation XP1000 just died. Fortunately, I managed to get a
second-hand XM-6302B CD-ROM drive. But this one comes with firmware 1012
rather than 1017. Does anybody still have an image of the 1017 firmware?
It can't be found on the Toshiba website. As a last resort, does anybody
know how to make a backup copy of the XM-6302B firmware? I still can
access it on the broken drive and could then update the new drive with
it using the VUP.EXE DOS utility provided by Toshiba. Unfortunately,
this utility doesn't offer a backup option. I've looked at the EEPROM
and they're soldered, so a physical change isn't possible.

Thanks for any input/suggestion.
