"Dr. David Kirkby" <drkirkby@ntlworld.com> writes in comp.sys.sun.admin:
|Before logging into the Sun, one is presented with a login screen
|which has the option to log in from to the local host or a remote
|machine. The Dec Alpha, which runs CDE is seen on the list of remote
|hosts, so I can remotely log into the Dec Alpha from the Sun. (So too
|is another Solaris machine, but that is hardly surprising.)
|
|However, I'm not shown the HP 11 machine as a networked device I can
|log into.
That list is generated from an XDMCP broadcast to the local subnet.
The HP may be configured not to respond - check the Xaccess file
for dtlogin/xdm (whichever it is running to handle XDMCP requests).
