Ok, what I have to offer are "near (?) misses".
Here I have a HP Ultrium (aka LTO) Autoloader connected to a C3600 running 10.20.
This works as expected.
Is your machine up to date on patches ? Especially the SCSI-ones ?
I don't know if it is supported, what you are trying to do, so this is just guessing.
