The 28655A is not a FWD SCSI interface.
It's a combination of SE SCSI and Centronics on a half height HP-PB
interface.
To get your DLT8000 working you'll need an A2969A interface which is a
HSC FWD SCSI interface.
There's also a HP-PB FWD interface ( 28696A ) but this one won't work
with a DLT8000 since the HP-PB bus isn't fast enough.
