Doesn't Solaris have a 'man' command? :-) I.e. "man 1m shutdown" (or
"man -k shutdown"). A plain 'shutdown' indeed goes to (real) single user
mode. 'shutdown -r' to reboot and 'shutdown -h' to halt. "What *will*
they think of next!?" :-)
But seriously: Welcome to HP-UX. I hope you will grow to like it.
