Hi Folks,
I'm looking for a little help getting going with a d-class that I have
just been given. It passes hardware tests ok on the lcd display, and I
have a 700/96 plugged in to it (which works and is, I believe, correctly
configured as it was plugged into another d-class when i took it :-D )
On the back of my d-class I have 3 serial ports - 2 on the "main board"
and one next to a modem looking device on an extension card: This card
has a switch that has 2 positions - service and normal. It's curerntly
in service position. The 700/96 is currently plugged into Serial
1/Console on the main board.
When I power the machine on it runs through its self test - but nothing
appears on the terminal. Attempts to type and hit 'enter' on the
terminal displays a No 'TO'device - Press return to enter. The
machine gets as far as "INIT C44A AP CONSOLE CPU01", or sometimes "INIT
C640 AP CONSOLE CPU01" on the LCD and goes no further.
I'd be greatful for any help on how I can get console output on the
700/96, I've RTFW and realise that the 2 INITs it comes up with are both
related to it not being able to initialise the console, but have no more
clue on how I can get it working.
Thanks in advance if any of you can help,
Cheers,
Phil
