connect system call error message: host not found

    connect system call on reports "host not found" during the lookup.
    This happens only on hp11 OS. It works fine on other OS like linux and
    even on other hp11 machines. I dont have access to this particular
    failing machine.

    Also besides nis or nis+, what other dns/network lookup systems are
    used?

    Would anyone happen to know to what areas I should pay attention to
    get this rectified. I am hoping this can be caused by not having right
    OS patches for hpux ver 11.0
