hi,
in hpux, the 'mail' command delete /var/mail/user when a all mails are
deleted. i think it's a normal behavior because i have the same
behavior on all my hpux systems (hpux 11.11 and 11.23) except one in
hpux 11.11 and i don't find why this server don't delete the file (it
keeps the file with a zero size, like BSD or GNU systems).
i found the solution with 'mailx', i just added "set keep" in
/usr/share/lib/mailxrc
i found the solution with 'elm', i just added "keep" in
/usr/share/lib/elm/elmrc-info
i still search for 'mail' :(
do you have a idea?
PS: i TUSCed the process, on the server who delete the file, i have
unlink("/var/mail/root"), i have not this on the server who keeps the
mailfile.
PS2: mail command have the same revision and patch level.
thanks for help.
