lun 1 on VA7100 running out of space

I have a situation I need a little help with. On our administrative
production server (rp7410 with a VA7100 array15x36GB) that houses our
main administrative software and our Informix database. The VA7100
holds the Informix database and like most databases it keeps growing.
Currently there is one lun on the array of 100GB which is vg01, leaving
150GB free for growth, according to the notes from the unix admin that
setup the server and array (notes say array is mirrored but not how, so
we have a max of 250GB). We have used all but about 5GB of the 100GB
and need to add more space to vg01.

The unix admin that setup the server and array has moved on and due to
a hiring freeze I got the job. I do have some basic training in HP-UX,
but no training on the array. So, this might be a admin 101 questions
that I slept through during training, if so I will write 1000 times
'I will stay awake in training' on our blackboard.

With my limited knowledge I see two possible solutions the first being
expanding/extending the current lun to be larger and the second is
create another lun and add that to vg01. I like the second one as
seems to me to be the least likely to get me in trouble and corrupt
data.

With that said, what are my true options? Are my 2 option really
options or is there a better way to resolve this? Secondly exactly how
do I do what ever I need to do? I think I saw in SAM something about
creating a lun and attaching it to a vg under disk/file system
management. Is that how I do it?

Extra credit is there a way to find out how the array is configured
(i.e. RAIDx, simple mirroring, etc).

Thanks for any help you can give me.
