NIC dropping packets

Hi to all,
HP-UX 11.23, Itanium RX4640. NIC is dropping packets when pinging clients on
the local LAN segment.
Reboot solved the problem, but what can it be? (no firewalls between, no
router, local segment)
Logs show no defects. Speed 100Mbit/full duplex as well as port on switch.
