All in all the only thing we need it for is to compile code using gcc and
then supply it to companies who still have some old equiptment in their
closets. So anything like graphics and similar is really irrelevant.
Then a C3700 or C3750 should be good enough. I got one with 2GB on
EBay for 60 Euro.
I use it as the test for all databases i want to look at - and as a
hobby to look at HP-UX.
But no there is no future for PA-RISC and even not for Itanium on
anything else then
the really big iron. And even there some day a C2D Chip Core will come
with an improved
NUMA for 1024 Multiprocessor systems.
