In article <1190706386.977532.83760@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx>,
an.celli@xxxxxxxxxx says...
i have a doubt and i would not mistake the choice...
we have 2 Hp-Ux 11i in blade on SAN storage, i need to share a
partition for both servers for sharing files (for Oracle E-Buisiness
Suites apps).
HP advise me that best filesystem solution is:
Veritas cluster filesystem + ServiceGuard
but ServiceGuard is needed ? doesn't VxFs cluster enough for share a
partition ?
Careful. Did they mean VxFS (Veritas filesystem) or CFS (Cluster
filesystem) or VxVM (Veritas Volume Manager)?
It is also possible that ServiceGuard is required for the shared disk -
but SG is included with 11i v2 and 11i v3. I'm not sure about 11i v1.
You didn't say which version of HP-UX you were using.
Also, sharing disks, you need to make sure that there is no write
conflicts - that is, only one write process.
