Hi,
i have big problems to install irix 5.3
I found a old Indigo2 Impact in my firm. The machine was not used for
5 years. All people, which know passwords are not longer available. So, i
try to install a clean system from the CD i found.
hinv give me the following
System: IP22
Processor: 200 ;hz R4400, with FPU
Primary I-cache size: 16 Kbytes
Primary D-cache size: 16 Kbytes
Secondary cache size: 2048 Kbytes
Memory size: 320 MB
Graphics: High Impact
SCSI disk: scsi(0)disk(1)
SCSI disk: Controller 0, ID 2, removable media
SCSI CDROM: scsi(1)cdrom(1)
Audio: Iris Audio Processor: version A2 revision 1.1.0
I boot from the cd the sash shell and the fx program. In the fx, i chose
[a]uto, and the PC check and format the disk. After this, I try to
install the system. But it only displays a progress bar. It loads the
installation tools, and after 100% loading, the system hang.
On my CD is written "IRIX 5.3 For Indy" Format inst (filesystem)
Sequence No.: 700 Notes: No installation tools, Contains user-Mountable
filesystem. Maybe, I need a different CD?
I have no handbook.
I hope, someone can help me
Thanks
