Hey there - has anybody had any luck in using the freeware version of
cyrus-sasl with sendmail? I'd like to be able to authenticated SMTP via
entries in the passwd file and Cyrus seems to be a straightforward way
(I don't know if I am able to use any of the other methods, so passwd
seems to be an easy start). I'm running 6.5.21 with the 7.4 compilers.
I'm not sure if SGI's sendmail can be configured to do it, therefore
I am trying to compile sendmail 8.10.12 (which I think is hard enough)
and use freeware SASL, PAM, DB4, OPIE. I don't find the documentation
very, um, helpful...so I'm wondering if anybody has done this already
and can save me the trouble of reinventing the wheel, or can give me
pointers on how to compile & config correctly.
Thanks!
Will
