Mysterious kernel message about dismissed exceptions

    I found something like this in my SYSLOG (6.5.20):

    Jan 27 17:30:47 5A:grape unix: |$(0x119)NOTICE: Dismissed 3561272 exceptions
    for standard.x (pid 1008019)

    Anybody knows what it means?
    This is first time I see something like this. The 1008019 is already gone.
    And BTW what is '|$(0x119)' ?
