    One software thing to look out for also is a network configuration
    file (I think it was /etc/config/ifconfig-1.options in my case), as my
    primary network interface (ec0) had been disabled by this file. You
    should alter it to set ec0 to up. (see man pages for ifconfig),
    although I don't think this would give the symptoms you are
    describing. Worth a try!

    When you connect your Indy to a hub (using a normal patch cable), you
    shouldn't get the ec0 error message even if there's nothing else
    connected to it.
    See if you can get a hub with leds so that you can see when things are
    connected and sending data.
