initial .php script won't start in fasttrack 3.02

strange,

when accessing php script directly, eg. http://server/script.php
everything works ok, but not when accessing the web site through
either http://server or http://sitename..

script.php is set as starting file in fasttrack configuration,
irix is 6.5.x, php dist from freeware, any help is appretiated..
